We accept students from ages 3 (Nursery Level) to 18 (American Diploma ).
WAAPC American School follows a rigorous and internationally recognized curriculum that combines the International Curriculum Association (ICA) frameworks with the Common Core State Standards (CCSS), providing a comprehensive, inquiry-based, and academically strong education, alongside a rigorous high school program backed by the College Board Advanced Placement suits, and the GED.

The International Curriculum Association (ICA) is a global educational organization that develops internationally recognized curricula focused on inquiry-based, student-centered learning. ICA’s frameworks emphasize critical thinking, interdisciplinary skills, and global perspectives, making them ideal for international schools.
ICA offers three main curricula:
International Early Years Curriculum (IEYC) for children aged 2–5, focusing on play-based learning and early development.
International Primary Curriculum (IPC) for students aged 5–11, integrating thematic and inquiry-based learning across subjects.
International Middle Years Curriculum (IMYC) for students aged 11–14, designed to develop critical thinking and interdisciplinary understanding.
The School has Learning Support Specialists who provide additional support for selected learners. This support may be given within the mainstream class or, on occasion, learners may be withdrawn for specialist lessons. All applicants are assessed to see how the school is able to effectively cater for learners needs.
State-of-the-art ICT facilities, swimming pool, tennis courts, football field, fully equipped auditorium theatre, Primary and Secondary library, cafeteria, science laboratories, and art (music/dance/painting) rooms. Boarding facilities are also available.
The school provides a boarding system for both local and international students. The school offers safe and comfortable accommodation for students from various backgrounds, ensuring they have a supportive environment for both living and studying. The boarding facilities are carefully managed with a focus on students' safety, well-being, and academic progress, with dedicated staff to assist and support them throughout their stay.
The school offers a variety of CCA to enhance students' personal growth and skills. These include sports like football, basketball, and volleyball, along with music and arts programs such as choir, band, and drama. Students can also engage in debating and public speaking, community service, and entrepreneurship clubs. Leadership opportunities are provided through student government, while field trips and internships offer real-world learning experiences. These activities are designed to support students' development beyond the academic curriculum.
Yes, after they have undergone the assessment required by the school. However, this situation is avoided as it can be unsettling for the child.
At our school, students take an English Level Test (ELT) to assess their proficiency. Based on the results, students may be enrolled in the English Language Support (ELS) program, offered as part of the Wednesday after-school service to help improve their English skills.
At our school, the foreign languages taught include French and Spanish. These languages are offered to help students develop strong communication skills in different linguistic and cultural contexts.
Yes, uniforms are compulsory for all learners at WAAPC American School. The school requires students to wear the designated uniform as part of its policy to promote a sense of unity, discipline, and school pride.
The school cafeteria at WAAPC American School offers a variety of nutritious and well-balanced meals. The menu includes both local and international dishes to cater to different tastes, with options for vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free diets.
At WAAPC American School, following the American academic year, the school year includes the following breaks: Summer Break from June to August (2–3 months), Fall Break in October (about one week), Winter Break from mid-December to early January (about two weeks), and Spring Break in March or April (about one week). The school also observes public holidays, which include a combination of local (Ivorian) and American holidays.

Our school follows the American academic year, which typically starts in August or September and ends in May or June.
